There is time-honored tradition of soldiers giving endearing or fearful names to their units, equipment and enemies. Some nicknames are famous like "Old Ironsides," "Enola Gay" or "The Red Baron". Far more personal were the names for a specific piece of Equipment. My grandfather's Jeep was named "Jim and Josie" for reasons unknown to me. He stood side-by-side with all sorts of soldiers. In one case, these soldiers gave their gun a most personal name: "Jacqueline".
